The Program

 

It is the individual himself who must take responsibility for his actions and it is our view that his reformation is dependent upon his willingness to change. Our program is therefore voluntary.

We currently offer five courses by correspondence:

All courses are done at the student’s own pace. Upon starting the course, each student is assigned a volunteer course supervisor who will work with him through the mail to complete the course as quickly and as successfully as possible. All our courses require a 100% passing grade. Because we don’t want him to have 60% of his self-respect back!  The end result of the Criminon Program is a person who is empowered to produce, to be effective and to contribute to society instead of being a drain on it.

Courses cost $350 each and are free of charge to Alberta inmates. A reduced rate is available for families wishing to sponsor an out-of-province inmate on the Criminon Program.
